G Herbo charged with fraud over purchase of designer puppies

Chicago drill rapper G Herbo and his associates were charged with fraud on Wednesday for allegedly conspiring to defraud multiple companies with stolen credit cards over the past four years. Speak Chicago Tribune, G Herbo, born Herbert Wright III; its music promoter, Antonio Strong; and various members of their crew were accused of using “stolen IDs to bill over $ 1 million for exotic services over a four-year period.” Allegedly illegally purchased exotic services include private jets, private yacht charters, limo rides, exotic car rentals including a Bentley CGTC and Maybach S600, a villa vacation in Jamaica, and two designer puppies that Wright purchased from a Michigan dealer in 2017. The 14-count indictment, filed in Springfield, Massachusetts, charges the defendants with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.

Under his rap nickname G Herbo, Wright, 25, made a name for himself in the Chicago exercise scene and attended high school with the late rapper King Von, who was gunned down in Atlanta last November. Wright appeared on Forbes’ 30 under 30 musicians list last week, and recently performed his hit “PTSD” with Chance the Rapper on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. After appearing on the Forbes List, Wright posted an Instagram with the caption, “NEVER PAID ATTENTION 2 BRACKETS… CAN’T START NOW… & I CAN’T STOP NOW !! “In a statement to Chicago Tribune concerning the indictment, Wright’s attorney said, “No comment.”
