Laundrie, 23, is the boyfriend of Gabby Petito, the missing Florida woman whose body was possibly discovered in Wyoming on Sunday.

A New York Post reporter, citing the lawyer, tweeted that the press conference was not called off at the request of the FBI but rather because he said it was not in the “best interest” of its customers.

He was named person of interest in the case. His family told police they had not seen him since last Tuesday.

The autopsy of the remains found during the investigation is expected to be completed on Tuesday, which could confirm that the body belonged to Petito.

No other information about the body, such as the physical condition of the remains found, has been released. The 22-year-old blogger was one of three people missing near Grand Teton National Park this summer.
