EXCLUSIVE: In an eight-figure deal that puts her at the top of the actress’ pay scale, Gal Gadot is set to star in Stone heart, an original international spy thriller created by Skydance Media that strives to give a feminine touch to action franchises like Impossible mission and 007. Tom Harper, who directed Aeronauts and Wild rose, is in talks to lead.
The script is by Greg Rucka (The old guard) and Allison Schroeder, who was nominated for an Oscar for Hidden figures. The film will be produced by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger of Skydance Media, as well as Gadot and his Pilot Wave production partner Jaron Varsano, Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn. Skydance Media is keeping the options open as to whether it will be a theatrical or streaming arc.

Gadot, whose next collaboration with Patty Jenkins Wonder Woman 1984 Set to debut on Christmas Day on HBO Max, will next star in film directed by Kenneth Branagh Death on the Nile. She also recently wrapped Red Notice for Netflix, the heist drama directed by Rawson Thurber Marshall in which she stars with Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds. She continues to gravitate towards tentpole projects, including Cleopatra, the vintage Jenkins photo that Laeta Kalogridis wrote based on a Gadot story. Paramount acquired this project as part of a heated tender.
Beyond Aeronauts and Wild rose, Harper’s directing credits include the BBC miniseries War and peace, in the same way Peaky Blinders, Misfits and This is England ’86. He also led the AMC pilot The son.
Upcoming Skydance Movies Include Tom Cruise Star Top Gun: Maverick, the Michael B. Jordan-star Without remorse, snake eyes, the war of tomorrow and the seventh and eighth installments of the Impossible mission series.
Gadot is represented by WME and Harper by UTA and 42. Rucka is with Inkwell Management and Schroeder with Verve.
