Instead of focusing on a political event, Saturday Night LiveCold Open presented a parody of Family quarrel who stung Game of thrones against the Avengers. Kenan Thompson played Steve Harvey in the skit celebrating the two largest franchises in pop culture.
Each member of SNL's cast has donned costumes that resemble popular characters from the HBO show and Marvel. For the Game of thrones Kate McKinnon played Brienne, who was recently knighted during an episode of last season. Cecily Strong played at Melisandre, while Kyle Mooney played at Bran.
On the Avengers On the side of things, Alex Moffat played Thor and Leslie Jones played comic Groot. Meanwhile, Beck Bennett played the wicked Thanos (with his hand decorated in stones to the infinite).
Instead of actually playing the game, each character simply sets out to talk about his respective show and movie. "Slut, I'm Groot," Jones repeatedly said throughout the sketch.
Melissa Villaseñor is presented midway to save the quarrel under the name of Arya Stark. Thompson 's Harvey praised the character for his moment in the recent epic battle scene of the HBO show.
