Game of Thrones season 8 episode 2 times, how to diffuse, what to know

The eighth and final season of Game of thrones started Sunday at 9 pm ET with a new sequence of titles, new alliances and new theories about who, if any, will sit on the iron throne when the dust (and snow) subsides.

Summary of episode 1: Winterfell

Season 8 begins in the same way as season 1, with a royal visit to Winterfell, the seat of the North that gives title to this episode. "Winterfell" does a lot of staging, causing our heroes to position themselves for the upcoming fight (s) and their position.

The White Walkers cross the wall and move further south, bringing their mysterious magic. Theon Greyjoy continues his redemptive path by saving his sister from sadist Ramsay Bolton. Tensions arise between Sansa Stark, today Lady of Winterfell, and Queen Daenerys, who is not slow in bending his power. Jamie Lannister arrives at Winterfell and the first thing he sees is the piercing gaze of Brandon Stark, now the Three Eyed Raven, whom he recognizes as the boy he's attempted to murder by defenestration. And a long-awaited meeting between Jon and Arya is bittersweet, as we face the fact that these two, who grew up as brothers and sisters, have changed since the last time they saw each other. ..

But about this matter of brothers and sisters. The most important revelation of last week's episode took place when Sam revealed to Jon, who had spent all his life as the bastard of Winterfell, that he was actually the truly born son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark and therefore had the greatest right to claim the Iron Throne. Of course, the public knows Jon's true lineage since the last episode of Season 6, but this news is a shock to Jon. What this means for the future of his alliance (and his romance) with his aunt Daenerys will surely be one of the major plots of this last season.

What to expect in episode 2

HBO on Thursday released a preview of his episode, in which a new journalist, Jamie Lannister, was on trial in front of Daenerys and the lords of the North. Jamie's redemptive ark seemed to be on the rise last season, when he finally cut ties with his latest bad influence, Cersei. But Dany did not forget Jamie's former nickname, the Kingslayer, which he won by assassinating his father, the crazy king Aerys. True, this is after Aerys attempted to set Kings Landing on fire, but it seems unlikely that Dany would accept this justification, especially since she herself showed signs of the Mad Queen. during his reign.

Sansa will ask for justice so that her little brother, Bran, who is in the corner watching the lawsuit / practicing his scary signature look. Jamie has his own little brother in Winterfell to guarantee it – these two have been getting rid of their problems for almost the whole series – but if Tyrion is able to convince Targaryens and Starks to work with another Lannister remains to be seen.

The rest of the survey is devoted to the preparations for the battle: shots of siege weapons, men parading in the yard and Arya pulling a bow while invoking the God with many faces. Jon asks Tormund, "How long do we have?" And Tormund's voice responds, "Before the sun rises tomorrow," suggesting an overnight assault by the king's forces of the night. . Let's hope that Winterfell's internal policy will be resolved, or at least suspended, in time to defend the living from the dead.
