Flights to Gatwick Airport have been suspended due to a problem in his control tower.
The airport apologized and said it had encountered a problem with its air traffic control systems.
In a statement, Gatwick said he was working "to remedy this situation as quickly as possible."
"Passengers must check directly with their airline or on the flight page of our website for the latest information regarding their flight," the airport said.
The European Air Safety Organization Eurocontrol has stated that arrivals and departures would not be available before 21:00 BST for technical reasons.
The suspension has been in effect since 17:08 and the Gatwick website shows that some flights have been diverted to other airports.
In December, flights were suspended for 30 hours after drone observations, causing chaos for 140,000 passengers.
In July, a senior Sussex police officer said the airport was not prepared for an attack by more than one drone.
