DAYTON, Ohio (AP) – General Motors says it is considering a $ 175 million truck engine plant in Ohio that could employ more than 100 people.
GM spokesman Dan Flores told the Dayton Daily News that the new plant could open at the end of next year in the Dayton area. It would develop ongoing work at the GM-Isuzu DMAX joint plant in Moraine, a suburb of Dayton.
Flores said that a new plant and DMAX facility would both produce diesel engines. He says the company needs more engine production volume.
A fact sheet for a Montgomery County Commissioners meeting includes a resolution for nearby Brookville to encourage GM to build a diesel engine manufacturing plant in the city.
