Following the reaction from the Genshin Impact community, developer miHoYo released a statement on the game’s controversial anniversary event and confirmed that it already has “more celebrations” in the works.
With a year of in-book content racking up record-breaking sales numbers along the way, Genshin Impact developer miHoYo has revealed plans to celebrate the title’s success with a special anniversary event. Things changed after the details of the celebration were revealed, however.
Fans weren’t happy with the rewards on offer and begged miHoYo to increase them before the anniversary aired. No changes were made beforehand, which sparked even more outrage from the community, who expressed their displeasure by bombarding reviews of the title.
Now miHoYo has released a statement to GamesRadar + on the situation. In its response, the developer confirmed that it has absorbed the feedback from the community and plans to host additional events with more rewards as a thank you to the community.
In their statement, miHoYo first acknowledged players’ concerns regarding the anniversary event. “We have been very attentive to [the] comments regarding Genshin Impact’s first anniversary, ”they confirmed.
The developer also hinted at plans to host other events in the future, which they believe will include better rewards. “We have already offered more celebrations and thank you gifts to express our gratitude for the support of the players.”
Finally, the studio stressed the importance of player feedback on the event, and thanked them for their continued investment: “Fan feedback [is] really precious to us, and we wish [everyone] will continue the adventure and collect other precious memories in Teyvat.
Genshin’s developer comments follow widespread demand from their community for better communication from the studio, which many fans say may be taking notes from other developers like Square Enix.
The community also suggested a series of changes outside of the game’s special events to improve the overall experience and make their time spent at Genshin more rewarding. So it’s possible that miHoYo will incorporate some of these comments into their upcoming events as well.
It remains to be seen exactly what miHoYo has in store for these unspecified celebrations, but it appears they have taken player feedback on the anniversary event to heart and plan to address their concerns in future updates to duration. limited.
