George D. Pitchford Sr.

RANDOLPH – George D. Pitchford Sr., 60, of Allegany Road, Randolph, city of Napoli, died Thursday, September 23, 2021 at UPMC Chautauqua in Jamestown, after a brief illness.

He was born August 9, 1961 in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Donald and Jean (Konieczny) Pitchford Sr. He graduated in 1979 from Randolph Central School.

George has worked for Titan-X in Jamestown for over 23 years. In previous years he had worked as a henchman in the oil and gas industry. He was a member of Randolph American Legion Post 181 (Sons).

An avid fisherman, George was often at the river fishing with his son, George Jr. or hunting with his sons or friends. A longtime friend and too many colleague, he was a social butterfly and he loved life and relationships. His greatest joy was his children, and he supported them throughout their lives and into adulthood.

George was a talented cook and loved to give others his last walleye or one of his fabulous meals. He loved to cook and entertain. He has always been there for others and his good heart will be remembered.

He is survived by one daughter, Ashley (David) Pitchford of Cassadaga: three sons: George Pitch-ford Jr. of Randolph, Jared (Melissa) Pitchford of Denver, Colorado, and Jake (Hanna) Bush of New Lexington, Ohio; three grandchildren: Charlie, April and DeAngelo; two brothers: Dr Daniel (Kristy) Pitchford from Exton, PA, and Dr Donald (Melanie) “Donnie” Pitchford from Liberty Hill, Texas.

As per George’s wishes, tours will not be observed. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date and will be announced by VanRenselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph.
