The Latvian orchestra conductor has been active in Munich for fifteen or so years. Now he has extended his contract until 2024, BR announced on Thursday.
The conductor Mariss Jansons will remain conductor of Symphony Orchestra and Chor Bayerischen Rundfunks (BR) after 2021. Jansons had extended his contract until 2024, BR announced Thursday .

Born in Riga, Jansons is one of the world's leading orchestra conductors. In the past, he has received, among others, the Federal Cross of Merit, the London Philharmonic Society Gold Medal and the Ernst von Siemens Award. Jansons is also an honorary member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and Berlin.
