In northern Mexico, an aircraft of the airline Aeroméxico crashed shortly after takeoff. The accident occurred in Durango Province. Photographs showed rescuers and smoke rising from an aircraft that still seems relatively intact.
The plane was en route from Guadalupe Victoria International Airport to Mexico City, said Governor Jose Aispuro on Mexican television. The accident occurred at a good ten kilometers from the airport.
According to the Department of Transport, there were 97 pbadengers and four crew members on board. Nobody died in the accident. 49 people were so badly injured that they were taken to the hospital. The pilot suffered the most serious injuries when the nose appeared for the first time
Eyewitnesses reported that dozens of pbadengers had left the plane filled with smoke in a field and had been partially directed to the airport. According to eyewitnesses, there was a big crash before the accident
Officials and witnesses said the pilot had attempted to take off during a storm. Governor Aispuro said that a gust of wind caught the machine by the time it took off and pulled it out of the stable position. A violent storm raged on the airport during takeoff
The plane was Embraer 190.
