The powerful singer sits at the end of October with guitarist Christoph Sell in front of a cultural center in Rostock. He tells with pbadion and without interruption. The story of fish fillet with fine cream is older than one thinks. Eleven years ago, it was founded "in boredom" in the schoolyard. Monchi, Christoph, Jacobus, Max, Kai and Olaf are all from the Greifswald region. Monchi, for example, grew up in the 3000-year-old town of Jarmen: "We did not even have a youth center, but a bus stop." In youth, everything was mixed up. The doctors had been heard as well as the Nazi music.
At one point, they decided to position themselves against the right. The answer was followed by an attack with butyric acid in the rehearsal room and open hostility. "It's always been a threat, but we're used to it," says Christoph. They have the public themselves and a good network. The idea is to support small projects and "singles among all the scammers" who are quite alone in their commitment: a barbecue or a football tournament with refugees is enough.
Especially in the country, there is a "flagrant Nazi infrastructure". And yet: the love for the home and the bond with friends and family are huge. The FSF still plays in small towns. They were able to organize their release night in Hamburg or Berlin well before, but they deliberately chose villages in the area. In Jarmen they organize an outdoor activity every year with the fire brigade and the football club. Because: "There are also a lot of excited people here."
"We always say: do not stay in shock, ride the donkey," says guitarist Christoph. Before the elections in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in 2016, they mocked the right with the province with their campaign "Not yet completely screwed up". Monchi also sends aid to the Turkish-Syrian border or goes to a completely overcrowded refugee camp in Lesbos. "Such a visit does things with you on so many levels, it sharpens the senses," he says. "And when you come home, of course, you are grateful for the great chance that you were born here."
But the group also says, "Fine cream is not just politics, it's part of us." Anyone attending a concert lives an exciting and intoxicating evening of sweat and drunkenness, punk and party. Musically maybe even stretchy. "I still can not sing and play Rock am Ring," they say. And there are touching moments. For example, when Monchi speaks with great respect for his parents, who accompanied him even in difficult times. "I do not care what you do, but I'm behind you," he sings. Whatever the case may be, there are many personal songs "in which we always lose our pants".
On the music scene, the FSF has prominent fans. Herbert Grönemeyer has supported it in the Dessau debate via Instagram. For the rapper Marteria Monchi is "one of the most exciting characters of pop culture". And the singer Tote Campino told dpa: "They are a living example of how you can maintain your attitude, even in a difficult environment and an increasingly difficult period."
But for many, the group is still a thorn in the side. "We are not hippies and we do not all love each other, we sometimes find someone who has a big mouth, shit, no doubt," says Monchi. He does not ignore his past. It was the same for the football fan in Hansa Rostock's ultraszene and for a five-year stadium ban. He stole his sister and her parents had to pick him up after a party outside a Dortmund cell. He also talks about it today in songs.
The constitution's protection accused them of anti-state pbades and police in a 2009 song. "Bull's helmets, they must fly, your clubs are in front," he says. .
