In northern Mexico, an aircraft of the airline Aeroméxico crashed shortly after takeoff. The accident occurred in Durango Province. Plans show rescuers and smoke rising off.

The plane was en route from Guadalupe Victoria International Airport to Mexico City, said Governor Jose Aispuro on Mexican television. The accident occurred about ten kilometers from the airport.

According to the Department of Transport, there were 97 pbadengers and four crew members on board. 85 people were injured. According to Aispuro, there were no casualties in the accident.

Several witnesses report that dozens of slightly injured pbadengers left the plane filled with smoke in a field. According to witnesses, there was a big noise before the accident
