Research conducted in Sierra Leone shows that some Ebola survivors suffer from neurological and psychiatric disorders long after they have recovered from the initial illness.
Researchers from the University of Liverpool and Kings College London studied Ebola patients who became infected with the epidemic that affected parts of West Africa there four years ago.
They found that many suffered from debilitating migraines, strokes, major depression, and anxiety disorders
. specialists to help treat those suffering from these long-term effects.
More than 11,000 people died during the Ebola outbreak that struck West Africa between 2014 and 2016.
