The Ghost Recon franchise has a history of tagging the protagonists of other Ubisoft titles, such as the ability for players to play as an assassin with a Creed in Wild lands. Now he does it again by adding Rainbow Six Siege operators at Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
On January 19, Ubisoft Paris released a patch for Title Update 3.10 for Breakpoint, which will be free for all players. Along with Title Update 3.10 is Operation Amber Sky, an event that begins on January 21.
Breakpoint takes place on a fictional island in the South Pacific called Auroa. Players take on the role of Ghosts, government agents sent to Auroa to stop Cole Walker. Cole Walker, played by The punisher‘s Jon Bernthal, is a treacherous warlord at the head of a force known as Wolves. The island is also occupied by a PMC called Sentinel. Breakpoint lets players get lost in the open world of Auroa, where they can gather information, participate in skirmishes, and complete missions.
There are 9 free missions in the latest update, where Sentinel produces a poison gas called Amber Ruin. This means that players will have to break into highly guarded areas and stop gas production, while finding an antidote. Fortunately, Rainbow Six Siege is here to help. Players who complete the missions will unlock “eleven unique rewards, including brand new weapons and full Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege skins.”
Completing the first mission of the event unlocks Operators Ash, Finka, and Thacher. The player can replace their normal Ghost teammates with Rainbow Six friends. Each Operator’s unique weapons and abilities come from their portrayal in Siege, which means they play a little differently.
There will also be “over 120 new customization items,” which include operator skins for those who like to dress up.
Breakpoint will be available for a free weekend, January 21-24. Free players will have full access to the base game, including the Amber Sky event. Progress will continue from the free trial to the purchased game, if you enjoy your time in Auroa. The game is also on sale, up to 85% off the standard and gold editions.
