Gina Carano, female mixed martial arts pioneer, was recently banned from the Star Wars series The Mandalorian and all future Lucasfilm productions. The character of Carano, the bounty hunter Cara Dune, was a major character on the award-winning Disney + show.
Carano was let go by Lucasfilm, as well as UTA, the talent agency that had represented her following a controversial social media post that was later deleted.
The message Carano wrote on Twitter read: “The Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors… even by children. Because the story is edited, most people today don’t realize that in order to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply because that they were Jews. How is it different from hating someone for their political views? ”
The hashtag #FireGinaCarano quickly started trending and did so for hours on end on Twitter before being dropped by Lucasfilm and UTA.
“Gina Carano is currently not employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans to be in the future. Nonetheless, his social media posts denigrating people on the basis of their cultural and religious identity are odious and unacceptable, ”a spokesperson for Lucasfilm said in a statement.
Gina Carano issues statement after being hired by conservative website
Days after his release, Carano released a resolution statement after being picked up by the Tory website. The Daily Wire, for whom she will develop and produce her own film.
“The Daily Wire helps make one of my dreams – developing and producing my own film – a reality. I cried out and my prayer was answered, ”Carano told Deadline.
She used her hiring by The Daily Wire to continue with a resolution statement to others who believe they could be “canceled.”
“I send a direct message of hope to all who live in fear of being canceled by the totalitarian mob. I have just started to use my voice, which is now more free than ever, and I hope this inspires others to do the same. They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them.

UFC’s Dana White says leave Gina Carano alone
Not only did Carano, a former Strikeforce and EliteXC fighter, receive support from Shapiro and the Daily Wire, but she also gained support from UFC President Dana White.
Asked about Carano’s cancellation by Disney and Lucasfilm, White told MMAWeekly.com during a UFC 258 scrimmage, “Leave Gina alone. We all make mistakes. “
Neither Carano nor The Daily Wire have released specific details about the new partnership with the veteran.
