When God started the world, He created all that is.
He created a place for man to exist (Gen. 1: 1-24) and then said, “Let’s make man… (Gen. 1:26). Notice that God made sure that man had the basic necessities of life, and then he created man. God knew that man would need something to do, so man was placed in the “… garden of Eden to dress and keep it (Genesis 2:15). God realized that man alone was not good and that man even needed companionship. God started the first house with Adam and Eve; that was and is God’s intention for the home, a man and a woman for life.
As in almost every other part of God’s creation, man tried to change God’s plan.
Today’s world sees man’s results changing God’s plan. When sin entered the world through Adam and Eve disobeying God, He could have destroyed man, but He chose to save man, if they obeyed His commandments. Adam and Eve were punished, kicked out of the beautiful garden and told that they should work with the sweat of their brow and that this woman would suffer during childbirth. Death entered the world, but God still cared about man and so began God’s plan to save man from sin.
The Old Testament speaks of the coming Messiah, the one who “would save his people from sin”; it shows how God’s plan was carried out to bring Christ into the world. The promise was made to Abram that through him all the nations of the world would be blessed (Genesis 12: 1 – 30). Christ was the answer to this promise.
As God’s plan worked, mankind became more and more sinful and moved further and further away from God. This is the reason the law of Moses was born. Paul explains this in the letter to the Galatians: “What then is the law for? It was added because of transgressions, until the seed came to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. So is the law against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a given law which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by law. But the Scripture concluded it all under sin, so that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ could be given to those who believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, locked in the faith that then had to be revealed. Therefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith ”(Gal. 3: 19-24). God’s plan was always a good and successful plan, it would always save and will save all who will obey God (Matthew 7:21 – 23).
Some have the misconception that Christ was not able to accomplish the mission entrusted to him by his Father.
This is far from being the truth; He did exactly what he came to do. He gave himself freely for the sins of mankind.
God allowed his Son to be crucified: “He, being delivered by the determined counsel and the foreknowledge of God, you took him, and by wicked hands crucified and killed him: He whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible for him to be retained (Acts 2:23, 24).
When God created man, He knew that man would sin, but He was willing, through His love, to send Jesus for the sins of the world (John 3:16).
God left his word with the instructions on how to receive forgiveness. Man is to have faith (Hebrews 11: 6), to repent of our sins (Luke 13: 3), we are to confess Jesus as the Son of God, Matt. 10:32; Acts 8:37), be baptized for the remission of our sins (Acts 2:38), and then live a life of faithfulness to God (Rev. 2: 10b). God’s plan is for success, but it must be followed.
