Mitchell further wrote that, following her criticism of Google, the company banned her from its business accounts in January. According to Axios, Google did so after discovering that Mitchell was using “automated scripts” to research examples of discrimination against Dr. Gebru.

Dr. Gebru’s dismissal on December 2 follows a post about the lack of women hired at Google, in addition to an internal debate over one of its research papers.
Google confirmed Mitchell’s dismissal in a statement to TechCrunch.
