Google launched a cool document scanner called Stack

Google’s Area 120 – an in-house incubator, where Google engineers carry on with familiar projects that sometimes turn into real products – has launched a document scanner called Stack, and this is perhaps one of the best apps of its kind. .

Like most document scanners, Stack uses your phone’s camera to create a scan of a document, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement. However, the app also reads some of the key data in your document, like the total amount of an invoice, for example, and then organizes your scanned documents into folders.

These records, called “Batteries”, are labeled as different categories, such as receipts, invoices, vehicle, house, IDs, and so on. You can also mark a document as a favorite, which will put it in a separate stack.

Finally, Stack lets you search the full text of your scans and save all your scanned documents to Google Drive.

Stack is not the only document scanner on the market; I use an app called CamScanner, and on iOS there is a document scanner built into the Notes app. But free scanning apps usually leave a watermark on your documents (and force you to upgrade to a paid version if you don’t want to). Additionally, Stack seems to have a pretty good combo of essential features and Google integrations that you need without getting too bloated.

Stack is available for free on Android, but only in the US for now. It is not known when it will be available worldwide.
