Park staff collect data and conduct studies to better understand changing visitor patterns in Grand Teton National Park. Historically, July and August have been the busiest months of the year at the park. Recent trends include an increase in visits in the spring and fall.

Grand Teton National Park staff have launched several studies this summer regarding the evolution of tours, including studies of visitor use and experience at trailheads in Colter Bay, Taggart and Lupine Meadows. These studies surveyed visitors to these areas to better understand visitor demographics, visitor expectations, etc.

Researchers also placed various vehicle movement monitoring equipment in the park until mid-August.

Visitor services to Grand Teton National Park and the John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway begin to withdraw from the summer season. Visit Grand Teton Fall Travel Planner for more information and travel planning information for fall in the Tetons.
