PITTSBURGH – The Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh announced Wednesday that it is implementing a COVID-19 vaccination requirement.
Staff, members and guests will be required to provide proof of vaccination to enter all Greater Pittsburgh JCC facilities, effective October 18.
“This schedule allows currently unvaccinated individuals to receive the required number of vaccine doses and the additional two weeks for individuals to build up their immunity before the policy is fully implemented,” a press release said.
The policy was unanimously approved by the JCC board of directors last week.
With respect to members and guests, the policy will apply to persons over the age of 12 to be able to use indoor health and fitness facilities and other programs.
According to the Greater Pittsburgh JCC, 95% of its employees are already fully immunized.
On August 3, an inner face mask requirement for both vaccinated and unvaccinated people was announced. The JCC said it expects this to continue “until Allegheny County falls below the high or substantial community transmission rate.”
