The UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, expresses his sincere condolences to the families of the victims of the deadly fire in eastern Attica, as well as to the Government, and praises the response of the Greek authorities. Mr. Guterres' representative also stated that "the United Nations stands ready to support the government and international efforts to deal with this disaster" and added: "Our humanitarian aid colleagues are expressing their concern about the fires raging in Greece, causing the death of at least 80 people and injuries to many others. "
