Unknown companies blocked the group's electronic systems for two days so that orders could not be placed and invoices reduced: the company did not die.
The first in our country – a cyberattack in a big Greek company aimed at getting the ransom that took place a few days ago. At the end of October, Vivartia, a powerful Greek company belonging to the MIG group, fell victim to the hacker. In addition to DELTA products, Vivartia includes the Everest and Goody & s's snack chains, as well as several other affiliates.
A good breakfast at the headquarters of Vivartia in Kifissia, employees who went to their offices did not meet their daily lives. All computers, from senior executives to account and warehouse employees, were open, but their screens remained black. The first reaction was to call on a team of experts from its subsidiary MIG, SingularLogic, whose offices are located in the adjacent building.
With the help of people, it turned out that the files were not erased but encrypted. The entire company's computers were booting up, but the screen was still black, with the word "pbadword" along with a question mark. Someone or someone had managed to enter Vivartia's computer system and take control of it.
All financial data, transactions, orders, bonds, commissions, etc. at supermarkets and even Vivartia stores at airports, everything was blocked.
