Russian Ambbadador to Athens Andrei Maslov met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Development Yiannis Dragasakis on the occasion of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras' upcoming visit to Moscow on 7 December and the meeting of the Greek Interministerial Joint Committee – Russia, ahead of the weekend of 5-6 December.
At the meeting, as reported by the Athens news agency, both sides agreed on the importance of strengthening the dialogue between Greece and Russia, as well as development and the Further development of bilateral cooperation, which should significantly contribute to the visit of the Greek Prime Minister to Russian capital.
Mr. Drabadagis stressed that the strong historical ties of the two countries should be reflected in the economic field. In this context, they discussed investment opportunities and open opportunities for the Russian side in Greece. With regard to the route of the Russian pipeline, the Russian Ambbadador informed Mr. Dragasakis of the progress of his work and of the fact that his second route would approach the Greek-Turkish border, the Russian side is interested in its continuation if it is supported by the European Union. The Greek side reiterated its continued interest in the progress and prospects of the project.
