The thousands of drivers who cross the Chalkis Bridge every day are very worried, which has given the image of cable construction in recent months.
In many places, the "bridge" of the high bridge suffered a marked deterioration, while small parts of the cement hull were detached and fell into the sea.
Images captured by the lens reveal a poor image of the bridge. The spare parts are very close to the points where the wires connect to the bridge of the suspension bridge. Meanwhile, in other places, the structure has been so corroded that the irons found inside the cement are unveiled, reports Realnews.
The problem is known to officials of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, but also those in the region of Central Greece, who admit the existence of damage, while stressing that the stability and load capacity of the bridge does not do not doubt. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transportation admits that there is visible moisture in the lower tread of the bridge, which however has no influence on its stagnation.
The high Chalkida bridge began to be built in 1987 and was released in July 1993 at the cost of one billion drachmas. Its length reaches 695 meters, its width is 12.5, its pillars rise to 100 meters above sea level.
