It looks like the MCU officially has a Kate Bishop. And a Lucky, the Pizza Dog.
Behind the scenes images of the Hawk Eye ensemble, which recently began filming in downtown Brooklyn as “Anchor Point,” confirms that Hailee Steinfeld will take on the Young Avenger’s torch. The video also gave us some other key details about the character’s upcoming appearance.
While most people could joke that Hawkeye is their favorite Avenger, that was all too true of Kate Bishop in the comics. She idolized the arrows wielding Avenger before taking her cloak and fighting alongside other heroes.
The behind-the-scenes video appropriately shows Steinfeld running alongside Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye on the steps of a New York subway station (Hoyt-Schermerhorn, if you’re curious) to catch a train to a new location (probably) exciting. Eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out that Lucky (AKA Pizza Dog) was right next to them. The crew members were able to confirm that he was a really good boy. (And also that the actors in the video were Hailee Steinfeld and Jeremy Renner.)
Over the past few days, rumors have circulated that Florence Pugh could appear on the upcoming Hawk Eye series too. While this statement doesn’t have any footage to back it up yet, we can tell that the mystery of who will play Kate Bishop has finally been resolved. While it may take a while before we see Bishop, Lucky, and Hawkeye walk across a subway on Disney +, we’ll have shows like Wandavision to hold back until we have more news on Hawk Eye. Oh, and if you run into Lucky while you’re waiting for your next train, maybe you should offer to buy him a slice of 99 cents. (But spring for the pepperoni if you can. I mean, he solved a murder case once! He deserves it.)
