The wife of assassinated Haitian President Jovenel Moïse shared the first photos showing herself lying in a hospital bed in Florida as she recovers from the assassination of her husband which injured her.

“Thank you for the team of guardian angels who helped me through this terrible time. With your gentleness, kindness and care, I was able to hold on. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” First Lady Martine Moïse said in a tweet Wednesday night, with a photo of her looking distraught.

In the image, we see Martine Moïse’s right arm completely bandaged.

The widow wrote in another tweet in Creole, accompanied by a similar photo, that she still does not believe that my husband passed like that before my eyes without saying a last word to me.

She added, “This pain will never pass.”

Armed men broke into the couple’s residence on July 7, assassinating the Haitian president and seriously injuring his wife.

Local authorities said 26 Colombians and two Haitian Americans were among the suspects in the attack.
