Ted is elected mayor without selling his family

Harper’s father is Ted, played by Victor Garber, who is from Actually is part of the gay community in Hollywood, but here he plays the father of a dad running for mayor. Ted is all about reputation and good impressions, but you can tell he has a sweet side to him too. There were a few moments there where I really felt Abby was going to go up to him and ask for his blessing and that everything would be fine. But, this family really needed the roots drawn from their underside.

At the end of The happiest seasonTed’s chances of getting Ana Gasteyer’s character support and impressing his guests seem out of the window after Harper and Sloane’s public fight. Once Tipper tells him about their stupid and “perfect” ways, Ted comes out and accepts his family with open arms. Immediately thereafter, he receives a call from Harry Levin of Gasteyer, who is ready to give him a lead, but only if Harper stays silent about his relationship with a woman. He rejects the offer, and a year later he has become mayor through other channels anyway. Yay!
