Harry Potter’s Rupert Grint gives his baby girl credit for ‘breaking the internet’

He rose to fame as Ronald Weasley in the iconic Harry Potter franchise.

But Rupert Grint credited his daughter Wednesday with breaking the internet on Sunday after becoming the fastest Instagram user to gain a million subscribers with a photo holding her little one.

The actor, 32, welcomed his first child with girlfriend Georgia Groome in May and he beat Sir David Attenborough when he hit the social media milestone in just four hours and one minute in November.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight about his first Instagram pic with Wednesday, he said: “ I think Wednesday actually broke the internet, personally. She deserves it.

The Harry Potter alum called the record ‘surreal’ as he said, he never thought he would one day join the social media platform.

He continued, “I don’t believe so. It’s very, very surreal. I never thought I would [join Instagram]. I always said I wouldn’t do it, then I just thought, “This has been so crazy [time]. So why not? “This is insane.”

David, 94, held the record for two months when he joined Instagram in September, reaching seven follower figures in four hours and 44 minutes.

Actress Jennifer Aniston plunged the site into collapse when she finally joined Instagram in October 2019, her first snap being a selfie with her Friends co-stars, hinting that a reunion may finally be on the cards.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also joined Instagram in April 2019, reaching 1 million subscribers in just five hours and 45 minutes.

The moving snap posted by Rupert, came six months after the birth on Wednesday, as she was resting on her chest, but her face was not visible.

Rupert is seen wearing a khaki baseball cap and a black t-shirt, as he wrote in an accompanying caption: ‘Hey Instagram… only 10 years late, but here I am. Grint on the Gram! Here to introduce you on Wednesday G. Grint. Stay safe, Rupert. (sic)

Meanwhile, the “ Cherrybomb ” actor recently said that being a father was “ a very different love ” than anything he had felt before.

He said: ‘It was something that I never really had a idea of, that kind of love. It’s a very different love. ”

Rupert and actress Georgia, 28, famous for her roles in Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, have been together since 2011.

Last year, the couple sparked wedding rumors as the brunette was spotted wearing a gold ring on her wedding finger during pub lunch.

In an interview with The Guardian in 2018, the Servant star opened up about settling down and revealed his hopes of having children one day.

He said: ‘Turning 30 was weird. I don’t feel there yet and I don’t know what the future holds. I’m just going to go with the flow, keep playing interesting characters and see what happens.

“I would like to settle down and have children soon. If I had a son, would I call him Ron? It’s a pretty good name, but probably not. And Grint is a difficult name to associate with a one-syllable first name.

Georgia, who is also said to have dated actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson, is best known for playing Georgia Nicholson in the 13-year-old comedy film.

Rupert became a global superstar after making his acting debut in Harry Potter in 2001 and filming his last scenes in 2011.

Since the series, he has starred in a series of TV roles including the sitcom Sick Note, the crime drama Snatch, and a role of Poirot in a series called the ABC Murder.
