Alva Johnson, a staff member of Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, filed a lawsuit against the president, accusing him of having kissed her without consent before a rally in Florida a few months before elections.

"I can still see her lips coming straight to my face," she said. The Washington Post. "I immediately felt violated because I did not expect it or did not want it."

In an interview with the To post, 43, mother of four, says Trump took her hand and leaned to kiss her on the lips. Johnson says he turned his head to avoid contact, Trump's lips landing on the side of his mouth.

She described the interaction – which would have occurred at a rally in Tampa on August 24, 2016 – of "super-scary and inappropriate".

In a statement, the White House press secretary, Sarah Sanders, said the allegation was "absurd" and added, "This has never happened and is directly contradicted by multiple highly credible eyewitness accounts ".

Johnson claims unspecified damage for emotional pain and suffering. She sued in Florida on Monday, saying the campaign had discriminated against her by paying less than her white male counterparts.

She told the paper that she was planning to be heard for a long time, but was worried about the reaction of her supporters. "I tried to give up … You want to move on in your life. I do not sleep I get up at 4 am watching the news. I feel guilty. The only thing I did was go to work one day.
