Health officials in Hamilton County issued a public health alert after a spike in overdose activity over the weekend. Officials said the increase came after 15 overdoses were observed from May 18-19. The number has exceeded expectations. Officials said the alert was intended to increase awareness and alert first responders, health care providers and drug users and their families about the increased risk of overdose. Alert is intended to serve as a notification to consider adjustment of the intervention capacity and the implementation of necessary protective measures, including:: Do not test drugs or injection equipment in the field.Have available and use the necessary protective equipment.Make extra doses of Narcan and administer multiple doses if necessary.Administrate Naloxone in case of drug overdose even when non-opioids are indicated Use it alone.Avoid to mix drugs.Call 911 after each overdose.If you are a user, do not leave an ambulance or a hospital against the advice of a doctor.For any ref Reference to additional processing services, call 513-281-7880.
