PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger says he knows he needs to play better to help the team end a three-game losing streak. Roethlisberger is ranked 27th in the league for the quarterfinals and has thrown as many interceptions as touchdowns. The 18-year-old veteran is also battling a hip injury suffered in a loss to Green Bay. Roethlisberger says he won’t quit this season and believes the accuracy issues he faces are fixable. The Steelers 1-3 host the Broncos 3-1 at Heinz Field in Week 5.

ATLANTA (AP) – The ACC is set to add to their already impressive list of NFL quarterbacks. Pitt’s Kenny Pickett became a Heisman Trophy contender while leading the country’s most successful offense. Pickett threw 19 touchdown passes with just one interception. He ranks second in the country for passing efficiency. Pickett, Sam Howell of North Carolina and Brennan Armstrong of Virginia could headline the next wave of ACC quarterbacks in the NFL. The ACC conducts all other NFL Quarterback Derby conferences. Nine NFL quarterbacks with at least one start this season are from ACC Schools. This is the most of any conference.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) – Penn State coach James Franklin has always enjoyed using a lot of running backs and would love to see one assert himself this year. Not only would more big plays in the running game help balance the No. 4 Nittany Lions offense, but they would certainly come in handy against the relentless No.3 Iowa defense on Saturday. Penn State will travel to Iowa City with four full-backs – Noah Cain, Keyvone Lee, John Lovett and Devyn Ford – who split the reps with mixed results. The Nittany Lions are 11th in the Big Ten and 93rd nationally in the ground race. Despite coming off their best outing of the season, they only managed 132.6 rushing yards per game.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) – Denver Broncos coach Vic Fangio said quarterback Teddy Bridgewater had the opportunity to practice Thursday after leaving the game against Baltimore with a concussion. Fangio says Bridgewater is improving and has been allowed to lift weights with the team and attend meetings. Substitute Drew Lock led the offense in practice Wednesday as the Broncos prepared for their weekend game in Pittsburgh. Coach Mike Tomlin says his team are preparing to face Bridgewater when the Steelers host the Broncos.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – New professional athletes to move to Philadelphia are on the list for Major League Wrestling. MLW is set to make its major cable debut on Thursday night. MLW CEO Court Bauer called behind the scenes on the TV recording of a roster that included wrestling veterans from The Blue Meanie and Savio Vega, to Jacob Fatu and Alexander Hammerstone. MLW has recorded televised games at 2300 Arena in South Philadelphia which will air this week and beyond. MLW is trying to find its way into a crowded wrestling market that already includes AEW and WWE promotions.
