Here is the cost of Verizon's 5G service – BGR

Verizon made several announcements on Wednesday about its upcoming 5G network, revealing the launch dates of the new wireless service and pricing. The good news for customers wanting to be among the first Verizon customers to take advantage of faster speeds is that 5G access will only cost you an extra $ 10 a month. However, not all Verizon subscribers will be able to access 5G on April 11, the official launch date of Big Red's 5G service.

Just like 4G a few years ago, the initial 5G coverage will be limited to a few markets, and so will Verizon. The first 5G Ultra Wideband mobility cities are Chicago and Minneapolis, Verizon said in a press release.

The service will cost $ 10 per month after the first three months, which is free, but you'll need an unlimited plan – this means you'll need a Verizon Go Unlimited package, Beyond Unlimited and Above Unlimited. If you have an old Verizon plan and you refuse to go, you do not have access to 5G.

Finally, the last obstacle between you and the 5G is a compatible device. Only one of the current 4G devices in the carrier range can be upgraded to 5G, and that's what Verizon essentially offers to its subscribers. The Moto Z3 was launched several months ago and is ready to offer 5G speeds as soon as you have all the money available for the all new Moto Mod 5G that will accompany it.

If the device sounds familiar to you, it's because Motorola has been talking about it in recent weeks and that it has introduced the Moto 5G Mod in Barcelona to MWC 2019. The mod is essentially a smartphone apart whole. antennas and a battery of 2000 mAh.

The 5G Moto Mod will be available for pre-order on March 14 and Verizon will reduce it to $ 50 for a limited time. Buy it later, and you will have to pay $ 349.99.

You should also know that Moto Mods are obviously compatible only with Motorola devices like the Moto Z3. Verizon also announced two contracts for this device, both of which were only valid on March 14. You will get a free Moto Z3 if you activate a new range of services on a Verizon device payment plan. You can also switch from your smartphone to a Moto Z3 at $ 10 per month for 24 months, which means you'll save $ 240 off the regular price.

In other words, if you book the Moto Z3 and the 5G Moto Mod this week, you'll get a high-end 5G smartphone priced at $ 540. This is not a bad deal if you're looking for quick access to the 5G, provided you're ready to carry a huge Moto Z3 gear in your pocket.
