Here is the estimated wait time for vaccines in Waukesha County

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI – As the UK approves a COVID-19 vaccine for use this week and the dairy state prepares for an upcoming deployment, the New York Times, the Surgo Foundation and Ariadne Labs have come up with a way to calculate how many people will need a vaccine in each state and county – and where Waukesha County residents might fit in that row.

For example, an average 41-year-old Waukesha County resident with no special work or health-related circumstances is believed to be behind 126.5 million people across the United States online, according to the study.

But these caveats make a difference.

In Wisconsin, the projection would be behind 2.2 million others who are more at risk, in a state with a population of 5.86 million. In Waukesha County, 145,200 would be ahead of you in a county of about 407,076 people.

The same person with higher risk health conditions has an estimated $ 424,500 in Wisconsin and 29,800 in Waukesha County. A healthy first responder would be another 389,700 on the state-level line and 28,300 in Waukesha County.

Vaccine deployment

No matter where you find yourself, Wisconsin has been preparing to administer the COVID-19 vaccine for months. Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers is calling on the federal government to “put Wisconsin first” when it comes to distributing the vaccine.

In a letter sent Thursday, December 3 to Secretary of the US Department of Health and Human Services (HSS) Alex Azar, Governor Evers said:

“Wisconsin only faces challenges that other states do not. As other governors strive to turn the dial as cases increase, our statewide mitigation efforts have been canceled, banned and are currently the subject of pending litigation. ”

Evers has requested that the first shipments of vaccine to Wisconsin arrive in quantities large enough to immunize the state’s 450,000 health workers and begin immunizing high-risk residents.

Wisconsin has been seen as a hot spot for the coronavirus in recent months. The State Department of Health Services reported 4,618 new cases and 60 deaths on Thursday, bringing the death toll to 3,562.
