NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – You may want to stay up late tonight – not just because we're on Friday – it will be your last chance to see the full moon on Friday the 13th for 30 years.
The full moon on Friday is called Harvest Moon as it will be the last before the autumn equinox of September 23, better known as the early autumn.
What makes this film so special is that it stumbles on Friday 13 sadly unlucky, a day traditionally marked by superstition (have you ever broken mirrors?) And marathons of horror movies.

The last time the full moon appeared on Friday the 13th was in October 2000.
The next time this happens is August 2049!
Anyone who stays awake to attend the rare event in the tri-state region will have their best view of the Harvest Moon at 12:32 pm ET (technically Saturday 14th).
This is the moment when the moon will be at maximum in the night sky.
If one of your friends asks you why he looks much smaller than previous moons, knock him out with this fact:
The moon is also called "micromoon" because it will be at its farthest point on Earth tonight – also known as its climax.
The moon will actually be about 14% smaller than usual and will also be much darker in the sky – a perfectly scary sight on Friday the 13th!
