Season 2 of Verzuz Kick-off is Thursday evening (November 19) with a high-profile showdown between none other than Gucci Mane and Jeezy.
The two rappers have been battling for years in a long and very public feud involving multiple diss tracks, physical altercations and even a murder charge against Gucci Mane in the 2006 shooting death of Jeezy’s friend and former comrade of the Pookie Loc label. (The rapper was later acquitted of the charges.)
The battle was originally planned between Jeezy and TI, but after some behind-the-scenes negotiations, Gucci took TI’s place with the rapper’s blessing. “Now THIS … This is what people want to see !!” he wrote on Instagram alongside the updated battle news, adding: “Trap Muzik salutes you all.”
