SPRING HILL, FL (FOX 13) – An employee of a leisure club in Spring Hill may have exposed people, including high school students, to hepatitis A.
The Hernando County Department of Health said that a person working in the restaurant business at the Silverthorn Country Club restaurant had been tested positive for the disease.
Anyone who dined between April 12 and April 30 may have been exposed to the virus.
According to Facebook pages, Central and Springstead high schools may have had their promotion night in Silverthorn.
A vaccine can help protect you if you receive it within two weeks and the health department recommends anyone who has eaten or drunk during these dates to receive one.

DOH-Hernando also offers the free hepatitis A vaccine in Spring Hill, in the Department of Health, with extended hours from May 1st to May 3rd and May 6th to 8th until 7pm.
41 cases of hepatitis A were confirmed between 2018 and May 1, 2019 and 165 cases in Hillsborough. Pasco reported 267 cases and Pinellas County, 319.
Officials from Hernando County said that 128 people had been vaccinated at the Ministry of Health after the Silverthorn case was announced.
Doctors suggest getting vaccinated if the following symptoms occur: fever, fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dark urine, pale stools, joint pain and jaundice, reports Center for Disease Control and Prevention .
"Many people with hepatitis have no symptoms and are unaware that they are infected.If the symptoms appear during an acute infection, they may appear from 2 weeks to 6 months after the infection. The symptoms of chronic viral hepatitis can develop in a few decades, "according to the CDC website.
