A man was charged Friday for killing his parents and their housekeeper in a posh community in Southern California.

Camden Nicholson, 27, of Newport Beach, has been charged with three counts of murder and conspiracy alleging multiple murders.

Nicholson was arrested Wednesday night after police found his parents, Richard and Kim Nicholson, and their cleaning lady, Maria Morse, in the couple's home in a gated community in Newport Beach, authorities said.

The police had gone to watch them after police from nearby Irvine spoke to Camden Nicholson in an emergency room at the hospital.

Court records indicate that authorities suspect Nicholson of having killed his parents Monday and Morse a day later.

Heather Rangel, a spokeswoman for the Newport Beach Police Department, declined to provide additional details about the murders.

The impeachment of Nicholson was delayed Friday until March 8. His attorney, Jessica Ann Watts, did not immediately respond to a message asking for comment.

Nicholson attended the University of Utah in the fall of 2009, the spring of 2010 and the fall of 2013, said Chris Nelson, director of school communications. He did not graduate, said Nelson.

He was also part of the university golf team in the fall of 2009, said Nelson.

Richard Nicholson has a long history in the clinical laboratory industry and has previously been president of the California Clinical Laboratory Association, said Michael Arnold, executive director of the group.

In recent years, he has worked as a consultant with WestPac Labs, said Staton Shed, acting president of the company.

"He was a really good man and he was very patient," said Shed. "We are all just trying to understand what happened, and you can not understand the meaning."
