A large 1880s Victorian was picked up and moved six blocks from Franklin Street to Fulton Street.

The giant carts haul it at about a mile an hour and it costs $ 400,000. More than a dozen municipal agencies have accepted the relocation.

The move was not an easy task. Power lines, parking meters and street lights have been removed for the move. and Muni had to reroute some bus lines

The six bedroom, three bathroom home still has the original wood and 19th century ‘anchor bolts’.

The mover says houses like these deserve to be preserved instead of torn down.
