Holographic technology could be the key to future quantum computers

[ad_1]

Existing techniques for studying light and extracting 3D information are inherently limited by the size of the wavelengths. This allows a considerably higher resolution that can even include holographic films of fast moving objects.

The approach is still very early and might not reach quantum computers before long. However, this suggests a future where you could have secure but small quantum processors. Existing quantum computers tend to be gigantic business and the size of a room. There is no guarantee that the design of the EPFL will give something that will hold on your desk or in your pocket, but it's a step in the right direction.
