The official Twitter account of Democrats in the House is attacking the chief of staff of US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Friday night, responding belatedly, but firmly, to a comment that he had done weeks ago, directed against the US representative, Sharice Davids, D- Kansas.
"Who is this guy and why does he explicitly choose a Native American woman?" the Democratic caucus published, in a comment directed on Saikat Chakrabarti, who works for Ocasio-Cortez.
Ocasio-Cortez herself seemed to love this comment, following her recent comments accusing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of targeting progressive Democrats because of their race.

"She's calling Davids, not Sharice," added the Democrat MP. "It's a phenomenal new member who has rocked a red seat – keep his name out of your mouth."
Pelosi said Thursday that she had recently addressed – "at the request of my members" – an "offensive tweet coming out of one of her offices" that compared centrist democrats to segregationists. This tweet was written and deleted by Chakrabarti.
Since then, Ocasio-Cortez has accused Pelosi of being "disrespectful" to several "newly-elected women of color".
The House Democrats' tweet included a screenshot of Chakrabarti's response to a person on Twitter, claiming that even though Davids is not racist, his votes "allow for a racist system".
"I think the problem is still there, I do not think people have to be personally racist to allow a racist system, and the same could be said about Southern Democrats, I do not think Sharice is a racist person, but The votes show it to allow a racist system, "Chakrabarti said on June 27, the evening of the second democratic presidential debate in Miami.
Chakrabarti reacted Friday night to the House Democrats' Twitter address, asking why they had not pointed out to him that he was answering someone else who had raised Davids.

"I've known Davids for a long time, I see her as a friend and encouraged her to run for Congress in the fall of 2016. I'm glad she did," Chakrabarti tweeted.
"All I had tweeted two weeks ago was to call the terrible border funding bill, which was over 90 Dems opposed." He was giving Trump a blank check to keep locking up people in terrible conditions.
