HOUSTON –Dinah Powers, the former co-host of a morning radio show in Houston, has died after battling cancer.

Rod Ryan, of “The Rod Ryan Show” on KTBZ-FM, announced his death Thursday with a touching post on the radio station’s website.

“I’ll never forget it,” Ryan wrote.

Powers had been diagnosed with stage four uterine cancer which had spread to his lungs.

She left the radio show last year.

Powers has appeared on KPRC 2’s Houston Life show several times alongside host Derrick Shore.

“A regular contributor to our ‘trending’ segment, Dinah has always had such a funny and dry delivery,” Shore said. “She always seemed ready to participate in the quirk we had imagined for the show that day.”

“Dinah’s fun, professional, and quick personality are just a few of the reasons it was so enjoyable to work with her,” Shore added. “We absolutely loved every time she came to see us at Houston Life and we hope she knows how much we miss her already.”

Shore shared the video on his Facebook page in September after learning of Powers’ cancer diagnosis.
