CLEVELAND, Ohio – As Ohio draws closer to Governor Mike DeWine’s stated test before lifting health orders of 50 cases per 100,000 people over two weeks statewide, zip code data allows for a closer look local about the situation.
Case rates in most of Greater Cleveland still exceed 100 cases per 100,000, according to zip code data from the Ohio Department of Health through Friday.
Only 14 of 173 regional postal codes had rates in the range of 50 to 100 cases per 100,000, while the rates for 125 others were higher.
The state did not provide data for the other 34 zip codes in the region, but this can generally be considered favorable. The state withholds, for reasons of confidentiality, details for any zip code that has had fewer than five cases in total, and for zip codes with fewer than 100 residents.
Use this database to find the latest coronavirus rates for your zip code and others in your area. Case dates are based on when symptoms started, not when cases were actually reported. But remember, the governor’s promise to lift his health orders is tied to statewide tariffs, not county or zip code tariffs.
