How to get skins and heads in Borderlands 3

As you may or may not already know, Borderlands 3 allows you to swap AKA's head and clothes with other garments that go beyond the default clothing. If you have pre-ordered one of the collector's editions, you've probably already downloaded some.

However, these are not the only ones you can obviously have. It would be odd for Gearbox to create a complete system to change your appearance and only have a few skins.

You can to get more skins and heads in Borderlands 3 through a variety of different ways.

  1. Little chance to find them in chests
  2. Roll Moxxi slot machines on the shrine
  3. Buy with Eridium Shards from Crazy Earl on Sanctuary
  4. Buy new ones on PS Store and Microsoft Store when they are available

First, you can simply find them in surprise boxes around the galaxy. Every time you open a loot or weapon cache, there is a small chance that you will discover a new skin or a new head that you can equip from the fast change stations.

Second, there are some opportunities on Sanctuary to get new skins and heads. Mad Moxxi's vending machines all have a chance to reward you with new skin or a new head, but keep in mind that rolling the slots can start adding up and being expensive. We therefore do not suggest trying unless you have a lot of money to spend and you have already updated things like UDS.

Crazy Earl also sells skins and heads in his Eridium Shard store. Make sure to go see it directly, not its vending machine to see all its goods. Most of them cost more than 100 Eridium Fragments, so be sure to save.

Finally, cosmetic items will be available for purchase for real money via the PS Store and the Microsoft Store. If you want to go that route to buy something cool, go for it. Just keep in mind that there are a lot of things at stake that you do not need to buy with real money.
