I recently talked to Apple about its second-generation AirPods and, during the conversation, Apple told me something that I'd never known: once connected to your iPhone, it was is associated with your Apple account. This means that as long as you are connected to other devices such as your Mac or iPad, you can easily switch to using your AirPods for audio.
