COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – Police in South Carolina said they arrested a suspect in connection with the death of a student.

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook said at a press conference that Nathaniel David Rowland, 24, was arrested early Saturday after a traffic stop. He says the police found what appeared to be blood in his car.

Holbrook says Rowland will be charged with murder and kidnapping in connection with the death of 21-year-old Samantha Josephson, a student at the University of South Carolina. We do not know if he has a lawyer.

Josephson was last seen around 2 am Friday, riding in a car in front of a bar in the 5-point area of ​​the city of Columbia.

Holbrook said the hunters found Josephson's body late Friday afternoon on a dirt road in Clarendon County, located about 65 miles southeast of Columbia.
