HTC does not abandon its blockchain strategy: as a result of the Exodus 1 launched late 2018, the company revealed that a cheaper version of the phone would be on sale later this year.
We do not have many details on the handset yet, but HTC said the phone would work as a complete node. In other words, it would validate and relay Bitcoin transactions and help keep the blockchain network running.
To do this, it must contain all the blockchain of Bitcoin (200 GB and bigger and bigger) and suffer the consequences. Apparently, the same full-node functionality also happens to Exodus 1, but this phone will require an SD card.
HTC's Phil Chen told CoinDesk that his goal was to make a blockchain phone that is "a lot cheaper" and "a lot more affordable", and that running the new phone as a complete node will be " a really pie item ".

The first HTC Exodus 1 was originally only available for purchase via Bitcoin, but was finally on sale for $ 699. The Exodus 1 will sell for around $ 250-300 (about £ 190-230 or $ 355-430), according to HTC.
We do not know any details about the size, style or specifications at this point, but no doubt that HTC will fill some of the gaps in the coming months before the Exodus 1 goes on sale.

Chen also admitted that the first Exodus was "definitely a 1.0 version", so it will be interesting to see the improvements made by HTC with the Exodus 1s.
