The last few months have been hectic for Huawei. The company's network infrastructure is banned in many countries (including perhaps the United States), its chief financial officer was arrested in Canada after being indicted for financial crimes by the United States, the FBI did burst into his San Diego facility and launched a foldable phone. Huawei has now pleaded not guilty to exchanging charges of theft in a US federal court.

The pleas have been filed in a federal court in Seattle, and the charges against Huawei include conspiracy to steal trade secrets, attempts to steal trade secrets, wire fraud and obstruction of justice. The US prosecutor's office said Thursday that the conspiracy charge was punishable with a potential fine of $ 5 million, three times the value of the stolen trade secret – the highest value being withheld.

The trial date has been set for March 2020, so it will take a long time before the problem is resolved.
