LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY – An event at a Sullivan County bar in Lake Huntington has resulted in at least six new positive coronavirus infections since mid-November.
Sullivan County Public Health Departments have determined that the person, who later tested positive for the virus, attended the meeting at The Nutshell during his infectious period.
The bar is located at 6692 Route 52 in Lake Huntington.
County health departments are warning that anyone who was at the bar on the evening of November 14 to the morning of November 15 could have been exposed.
Public Health Director Nancy McGraw said reports indicated that few attendees wore masks during the event.
“If someone thinks they have been exposed and develops symptoms, they should quarantine themselves for 14 days and call their health care provider if symptoms develop, or call Sullivan County Publix Health Services at 845 -292-5910, “she said.
The owner of The Nutshell has told the State Department of Health the business is now closed and will remain closed until at least the end of the year.
Contact tracing is ongoing, the county said. Anyone who tests positive will be forced to self-isolate and, as close contacts are identified, they are encouraged to request a test and be placed in mandatory quarantine. For an updated list of testing locations, visit the Sullivan County website.

- Difficulty in breathing
- Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
- New confusion
- Inability to wake up or stay awake
- Bluish lips or face
