Human remains found in a Kentucky home have been identified as Savannah Spurlock, ending the search for the 23-year-old mother, who has been living for several months, police said Thursday.
Kentucky police chief Robert Purdy told reporters Thursday afternoon that remains found just before midnight on the property had been identified as Spurlock after an autopsy.
The medical examiner has not yet announced the cause of death, Purdy added.

Spurlock's father told Fox News Thursday that "justice was done" after the crews discovered the remains of a home suspected to be the last known location of the 23-year-old's young man. A person of interest was arrested.
David Sparks, one of the last people suspected of being with Spurlock, was detained shortly before Thursday at 2:00 am and accused of falsifying material evidence and misuse of a corpse. He was incarcerated in a Madison County jail. He has "since taken to the Lincoln County Regional Detention Center," Purdy told reporters, adding that the detectives would continue their investigation over the next few days "about what led to the death and disappearance of Savannah Spurlock ".
Purdy said that "additional information may be published" in the near future.
Cecil Spurlock, 52, told Fox News in an exclusive interview that he had "prayed God" to end the search for his missing daughter.

Spurlock, a mother of four who gave birth to twins in December, "disappeared on January 5th after leaving a bar in Lexington with three people," Purdy told reporters, adding that her last known location was at Sparks, in Garrard County. which is located about 40 miles from the bar.

"Due to the ongoing investigation, information available to us based on his place of residence, we felt that the misuse of a cadaver and the falsification of physical evidence constituted an accusation that we could actually be carrying him this morning, "Purdy told reporters, adding that the other two men were not immediately indicted.
"After the discovery of the body early this morning and late last night, we are still early enough in this investigation," Purdy told reporters. "In the days and weeks ahead, we will still have many questions to answer."
